Happy Birthday Bikini

Yesterday marked the 64Th birthday of the classic two piece bikini. It was on July 5Th, 1946 that French designer Louis Reard unveiled the sexy two-piece swimsuit at the Piscine Molitor pool in Paris, France. To date, it is the most popular form of swimwear found on beaches worldwide. French fashion historian Olivier Saillard sites that this is due to “the power of women, and not the power of fashion”.
