Don’t Miss Zombie Walk: The Runway!
It’s my favorite dark and creepy time of year again, and I would never dream of missing an event combining three of my most loved things: Halloween, emerging designers, and charity! Zombie Walk: The Runway is Toronto’s first and only living dead fashion show. Cutting edge, deliciously dark and outright disgusting; Zombie Walk is sure to be the one of the season’s most exciting and unique independent shows. And it’s tomorrow (Tuesday, October 26th)!
Featuring the best and brightest of Ryerson University’s fresh design talent, alongside the avant garde styling of Spellbound hair Salon and the Complexions Academy of Makeup, this show will benefit The Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada. The foundation is a a national, not-for-profit organization dedicated to reaching every Canadian affected by a brain tumour through support, education, information, and research. Zombie Walk aims to raise a fabulous $10,000 for the cause.
Zombie Walk is organized by Ryserson students Maegan McWade and Meghan Erin, who deserve big kudos for putting together such a fun and meaningful event. There will be two shows, with the first at 7 p.m. and the second at 9 p.m. Everyone is invited back at 11 for an out-of-this-world after party! There will also be a silent auction before and after each show with items ranging from purses, event tickets, and student art on the block. You don’t want to forget your chequebook because LGFW star Jessica Jensen is contributing some merchandise!
I also have to mention there will be a free all-you-can-eat Candy Bar (clearly this is where you’ll find moi), a cash bar, and door prizes!
Tickets are available online here, or in front of the Ryerson library on Tuesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tickets aren’t being sold at the door so GET YOURS NOW for only $25.00!!
