Fashion designers use art to apply their design with natural beauty into clothing and accessories. They are influenced by things surrounding them as well as cultural themes. ”Fashion designers work in a number of ways in designing clothing and accessories. Some work alone or as part of a team. They attempt to satisfy consumer desire for aesthetically designed clothing; and, because of the time required to bring a garment onto the market, must at times anticipate changing consumer tastes. Some designers in fact have a reputation which enables them to set fashion trends.” Things considered by fashion designers is targeting those who will likely wear a garment and in which way it will be worn. They also have to consider the ranges and combinations of materials to work with including colors, patterns, and styles.

Most clothing is worn for everyday wear, but considering the styles and unusual garments, they are used for special occasions like wedding wear or party dresses. “Some clothes are made specifically for an individual like Haute Couture. Today most clothing is designed for the mass market, especially casual and every-day wear.”

What are most designers doing today? Most designer’s today are creating undeniably beauty within fabrics. Most designers are so creative that others are unable to compare and remake their designs. Designers like Oscar de la Renta & Proenza Schouler are known for their luxurious and multi-deminsional designs. Fashion Week for Fall 2011 wear showcased designer’s experiment with colors and textures within fabrics.

New York Daily News says,” The surprise at Proenza Schouler was the materials: velvet, fringe, even crochet. Tribal-print pants made a splash, and subtle touches proved stunning, such as dresses with slit seams that allowed just the tiniest peep of flesh. The mantra for shoppers this fall: Aim for great versions of the things you wear most, but embrace the unexpected.”

Even for Oscar de la Renta, his designs showed flash of color and texture on a beaded column gown.
