Best and Worst dressed at Oscar Awards
This years 83rd Academy Awards provided a fantastic show for millions of movie lovers with the most glamorous ceremony ever. It was held at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles on February 27 where gowns became glamorous fashion trends. The ladies stepped out onto Oscars red carpet in their best dressed and not so best dressed outfits with bold and extravagant colors like red, lavendar, black and white. Many of the stars are uncertain of what to wear which caused a riot of do’s and dont’s in fashion, but luckily we have fashionistas like ourselves to check out what’s best dressed and what’s not in fashion.
It’s not uncommon to see dresses that match the red carpet look, but this year there was an overload of red looks. Hathaway, Jennifer Hudson, Jennifer Lawrence, Penelope Cruz and Sandra Bullock painted the event red by opting for stunning designer red carpet gowns that were nothing less than AMAZING.” Other celebrities such as Cate Blanchett, Annette Bening, Natalie Portman, and Celine Deon are dressed in thrilling looks for all to see.
The forever elegant Cate Blanchett selects a lavender Givenchy Couture design with Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry. Her look was a pleasure to watch as she graced the red carpet with the flow of her Couture dress.
Annette Bening looks stunning in her NaeemKhan gown that accentuates her body perfectly. She was nominated for Best Actress in ‘The Kids Are Alright” which gives us a glmipse of her wonderful personality as she walks the red carpet in confidence. ‘
Jennifer Lawrence a newcomer to the Oscar nominated films proved that Scarlett Johansson is not the only blond in the film industry with style. She was also a nominee for Best Actress in “Winter’s Bone.” Her red flawless Calvin Klein dress made specifically for her by Francisco Costa gave her an unstoppable adavantage to a new trendy look. Any girl would want her look.
We aren’t sure why Scarlett Johansson’s look shocked us. Maybe, she was trying something new… way to new for her original look. This sheer Dolce & Gabbana lace gown was not a style winner on the red carpet that night.
Natalie Portman never looked so beautiful in her fushica Rodarte gown. As she wins Best Actress her bump glows with Tiffany jewlery and Jimmy Choos heels. Can you say fashionista? Her look was perfect for the occassion and it was perfect for her look. Simply lovely.
In an gracefully offsetting performance, Celine Deon performed “Smile” during “In Memoriam” segment that thrilled the crowd. Not needing an explanation, she shines like an Angel in her sleek Armani Prive dress dazzling the runway. I want to look just like her when I grow up!
Academy Award-winner Sandra Bullock wears a strapless Vera Wang dress that screams hot and elegant. While adjusting to her divorce, I’d say she’s doing quite well for herself. This breathtaking look exceeds our expectations for best dressed. I would love to have this dress! Great look Sandra.
