2011 Coachella: Festival of Fashion
The 12th annual Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival was a three day event which began on April 15th and ended on April 17th. It took place at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California attracting 75,000 fans each day. This festival had a great line-up with over 150 acts and performances like the Professionals, Black Keys, Ms.Lauryn Hill and many others.
According to Josh Haner of The New York Times, “When performers acted out ambivalence — Julian Casablancas of the Strokes, left, murmuring jadedly, or Erykah Badu, imperiously teasing the audience with false endings — the pose assumed a little more weight,” Ben Ratliff writes. “They were doing this at Coachella, where certain performances now become career markers, watched by up to 75,000 on the field, and, this year, live-streamed around the world on Youtube.”
The Coachella Music Festival is not only for the music and art lovers, but it’s also for the fab fashion lovers. The Coachella festival holds a special place for anyone who loves to express their fashion sense.
Even celebrities of all sorts attended Coachella in the warm spring weather. The event gave celebrities the opportunity to sport their best desert wear as it was focused on cool and comfortability.
For instance, Vanessa Hudgens wore a cool casual boho at the festival of fashion. She really showed us what she was made of and did not dissapoint in her super cool outfit. It’s sort of retro, don’t you think? Look below to see the picture as she sports her look.
Vanessa Hudgens attended the three day event in various boho themed wear. We especially love her in a white top and denim shorts. She had great accessories that set the tone for her look. Take a look (here).
She wasn’t the only star who stepped out and worked the scene. Rihanna, the red-head, was spotted wearing a camouflage jacket, denim shorts, black shirt with a green hat to top it off. It resembles the look shown in her “So Hard” video. What do you think?
Reality television star and fashion designer, Whitney Port, also sported the casual-comfortable look at Coachella. On the first day of Coachella, she arrived in a white lace mini dress with laced up shoes… NOT OUR FAVORITE LOOK. But she redeemed herself the following day in a tied grey top with a cute skirt (flowery print) and chic shades. Even her brown hand bag was adorable. Would you wear Whitney’s outfit?
